The objective

What you are trying to do

Help your team reach the score target by eating, surviving, and denying the enemy arena space.

01

Move together

Blue and red snakes steer continuously on a server tick; walls, bodies, and head collisions are dangerous.

02

Grow and recover

Apples add length and team score. Fallen snakes leave remains that either team can consume for a surge.

03

Race the target

Death triggers a small respawn instead of permanent elimination, so team pressure continues until the target is reached.

Complete rules for Snake Wars

These are the disclosed rules used by the room—not a simplified summary that changes once the match begins.

  1. 01

Two teams, blue and red. Steer your snake with the arrow keys, WASD, a swipe, or the on-screen pad.

  2. 02

Each 75-second round awards War Points: apples +1, the Golden Apple +3, and enemy knockouts +2.

  3. 03

A longer snake wins a head-on collision; equal-length snakes both crash. Walls and bodies are still deadly.

  4. 04

Boost moves an extra cell but costs two body segments and has a short cooldown.

  5. 05

When a snake dies it leaves edible remains - eat them for a burst of length (half their size).

  6. 06

That includes your OWN fallen teammates: race to their remains to surge before the enemy steals them.

  7. 07

Dead snakes respawn small with a brief spawn shield. First team to win two rounds wins the match.

Modes & room settings

Every setting below is validated by the server. The default is marked so a new host knows exactly what will run without changing anything.

One complete ruleset

Classic setup—no hidden host modifiers

Snake Wars currently runs the complete rules shown above for every room. The host chooses who joins and when to start, but cannot silently change the board, scoring, or win condition.

Before your first match

Three useful habits

01

Leave teammates an escape lane instead of turning every apple into a pile-up.

02

Contest remains quickly, but do not trade two living snakes for one food trail.

03

Use the arena edge to predict movement while keeping enough room to turn away.
