The objective

What you are trying to do

Score the most by tracing valid words through one shared letter grid before time runs out.

01

Scan the grid

All players receive the same four- or five-wide board.

02

Trace connected letters

Move across adjacent tiles, including diagonals, without reusing a tile in the same word.

03

Win the round

Longer valid words score more. The round leader earns a win toward the selected match target.

Complete rules for Word Blitz

These are the disclosed rules used by the room—not a simplified summary that changes once the match begins.

  1. 01

Everyone gets the same grid of letters.

  2. 02

Drag across touching tiles (including diagonals) to spell a word, then release.

  3. 03

Words must be at least 3 letters and cannot reuse a tile. Longer words score more.

  4. 04

The Qu tile counts as the two letters Q and U.

  5. 05

Highest score when time runs out wins the round. First to the target round wins takes the match.

Before your first match

Three useful habits

01

Trace reliable three- and four-letter words first to build a base score.

02

Look through the Qu tile as a single tile that contributes both Q and U.

03

On a 5 × 5 grid, scan local clusters instead of trying to read the entire board at once.
