Battleship
Sink the enemy fleet before they sink yours.
What you are trying to do
Find and sink every enemy ship before your own fleet is destroyed.
Deploy
Place the complete fleet without overlaps. Your layout stays private; the opponent sees only the results of shots.
Search the grid
Fire at one legal cell at a time. Hits, misses, and sunk ships are recorded by the server.
Finish the fleet
Use confirmed hits to trace each ship's direction, then eliminate every remaining segment.
Complete rules for Battleship
These are the disclosed rules used by the room—not a simplified summary that changes once the match begins.
- 01
Goal: sink your opponent's entire fleet before they sink yours.
- 02
Setup: place every ship on your grid, or tap Auto deploy. Drag to move, rotate to fit, then Ready up.
- 03
Battle: take turns tapping a cell on the enemy grid to fire.
- 04
A hit is marked with fire; a miss shows a splash. Firing never reveals the enemy's un-hit ships.
- 05
Sinking a ship reveals its full shape. Sink every enemy ship to win.
- 06
Turn mode (host): Hit = shoot again keeps your turn on a hit; Classic is one shot per turn; Salvo gives one shot per ship you still have afloat.
- 07
Board (host): Classic 10x10 or Quick 8x8.
Modes & room settings
Every setting below is validated by the server. The default is marked so a new host knows exactly what will run without changing anything.
Turns
Controls how many shots a player may take before the turn passes.
A hit keeps the shooter active; the turn ends on a miss or when the fleet is gone.
Exactly one shot per turn, whether it hits or misses.
Fire once for every ship still afloat; losing ships reduces the next salvo.
Board
Changes the search area and fleet layout space.
The full 10 × 10 search grid and standard-length naval duel.
A tighter 8 × 8 grid that produces contact sooner.
Three useful habits
Spread opening shots so one miss checks as much new space as possible.
After a hit, test adjacent cells methodically instead of scattering fire.
Avoid packing ships into a pattern that reveals the rest of your fleet after one sink.
